"good morning, maryland," i'm jamie costello. >> i'm megan pringle. thanks for joining us. >> good morning, lynnette. >> good morning, jamie. we missed you yesterday, by the way. we're looking athe good weather for today. 76 degrees is the perfect temperature. we're going to be dry once again. that's the caveat in the forecast. a bit cooler so it lowers the risk for the fire potential, but it still is possible. so we have to watch that. so still no outdoor burning. more sunshine for today. those temperatures will be in the mid to upper 70s. save the best news for last is the fact that we need some rain and we could see that over the weekend. the timing's not that great but we need it.

maryland's most powerful doppler radar not picking up any rain as of now. it will get more active as we head into the weekend. the temperature into easton is 55 degrees right now. we're looking at that humidity at 76%. the sustained winds are calm as of now. we have a gust up to 8 miles per hour. all of this will be picking up, the sustained winds as we go throughout the afternoon and morning time frame. the 12-hour forecast waking you up this morning is still on the cool side around 63 degrees. by this afternoon, we'll be at 73, nice and windy outside but not as breezy as yesterday. by 4:00, the temperature coming in at 76 degrees. evening once again will drop into the 60s. we'll have a nice, cool night. as you head out and about, grab that jacket. so kim, how's the forecast for the traffic on this friday? >> for the most past so far so good on the 95 corridor and the

83s. right there at owings mills boulevard. the co-truck has arrived on the scene so perhaps that should be cleared within the hour. this will be i-70 west of the beltway. you see traffic is moving nicely both eastbound and westbound as you approach the beltway and head towards columbia pike. so we're look going in terms of traffic so far. megan and jamie, back to you. following breaking news out of california. a massive fire and explosion in a residential community right outside of san francisco. one person is confirmed dead. we're talking homes. block after block had been reduced to ashes. the fire is believed to have started when 2 foot gas mains exploded and cruise are battling the fire from the ground and from the air. 173 homes have been destroyed or damaged. >> i couldn't tell exactly what the sound was. it just got louder and louder.

good morning, everyone. thanks for waking up with us. i think you'll like the forecast this morning. a little on the cool side. as we go into the afternoon, we'll warm things up but nice and pleasant once again forecasting a high around 76 degrees. it's going to be dry today and maryland's most powerful radar is picking up on that as of now. we don't like the dry conditions because it's been too dry. we still have that threat for today. currently the temperature into baltimore coming in at 61 degrees at the maryland science center. the winds now sustained. not so bad, still on the light side. check out the gusts now at 20 miles per hour. that will be the scenario throughout the day like yesterday. other areas into mount airy, check out the temperatures, on the chilly side. the gusts now out of the west- northwest about 10 miles per

hour. frederick's temperature is at 57. they have a gust reported at 19 miles per hour. towson's temperature is 56 and their gusts not so bad as of now. things will be picking up throughout the day, the gusts and sustained winds. good morning, kim brown with traffic. >> reporter: thanks, lynnette. good morning. we have a couple of incidents working early on this friday. most of the major incidents will be clear on 95 and no problems on the 83s as well. very few delays on the harbor tunnel throughway, no problems from the split to 295. 95 running well to howard county. on the beltway, southwest corner six minutes between i-70 and 95. some good news in owings mills, northbound 795, they are are in the process of getting that cleared. most of the lanes have been reopened, so expect a few delays there. also, a yah tilt problem southbound york road at timonium road has the right lane blocked.

it's 5:46 right now. they say they are overworked and underpaid. that's bad for any job but when you are fighting more than ten house fires it's nearly impossible. linda so joins us live in the studio. linda? >> reporter: fires destroyed almost a dozen row homes earlier this week forced the city to call in crews from as far away as d.c. it proves how budget cuts are endangering the city. the on tuesday, the city called in crew from four surrounding counties that helped fight the fire that spread to four homes. it's a move that shows how the budget cuts and recent company

>> i understand the jets just sold the game out so it's not blacked out in new york. game time will be monday night at 7:00. good morning, everyone. check out what we have here for numbers because we are a little below our high temperature. we should be at 80 degrees for this time of the year. we're coming in at 76. that's what i'm forecasting. as we check out the low this time of the year, it should be at 59 degrees. we are looking at a record low set back in 1956. 47 degrees then and the high set back in 1983 was 98 degrees. so yes, we hit the 90s a couple of days ago. finally we're in the 70s and we are feeling it. yesterday, though, our first day of 70s in a while. 78 degrees into winchester. oakland a little cooler around 63 degrees and 74 in new york.

atlantic city around 77 degrees. 0 as our moisture content is in control, we are very dry. we have the dew points in the 40s once again. if you want more moisture, you have to head to the south where it's very sultry there. we have a canadian high that will be working its way here. in the meantime, we're coupling in the winds and with that, we have sustained winds to frederick around 8 miles per hour and five into baltimore, ten into washington. the sustained winds will be picking up as we go throughout the day. the canadian high, we have the northwesterly winds around that. this high will start to make its way off towards the east. once it does that, it will allow this front to move in here. i'm thinking of the timing. we could see a couple of showers into saturday evening. all in all this model is picking up more rain as that front crosses on sunday. so be aware of that. have your umbrella as you head out and about on saturday.

a bold robbery. look at this robbery caught on tape. you can see an suv pulling up to an electronics store. at first it seems like the driver was just looking at the place. then he spins the truck around, backs into the store and starts grabbing everything he can get. then he drives off. all of the time he seems to be quite unaware that the cameras are capturing every movement

a massive explosion in the hills south of san francisco has destroyed more than 50 homes leaving at least one person dead. vacant homes on fire in baltimore happens a lot. now neighbors are asking the city to do more to protect them. it's purple friday and this town is ready. if you aren't ready, put your jersey on. wait till you hear the records from our leader ray
